WHO AM I? (SELF RECOGNITION)

How important it has become these days to have peers, to have people who get you, to be surrounded by someone who would help you out when needed. On one hand, it’s important to have a circle but on the other, maintaining it is a reason for stress. You know, why this difference exists? The answer is within us. We are so much involved in maintaining peer groups, that we lag our own identity. Seeking a friend for help is nothing wrong, rather it’s the need of humans of today. Doing it on a regular basis, always looking for a shoulder to lean upon is a matter of concern. Don’t you think life would have been so easy if, at a time, we knew what’s best for us. We would have saved so many calories if we knew what should we do at a moment. The ‘friend culture’ of today is so much ‘trending’ that we have lost our individual identity. It’s a bitter truth of today’s lifestyle.  I feel we are no longer the ‘actual WE’. The peer around, the relatives beside now shape us. Our likes and dislikes are now governed by their opinion. I feel that’s the main reason for stress today.

We include so many individuals in ‘MY PEOPLE’, that we forget to define the boundaries. The people around us frame their opinion about us the way we behave in front of them but it’s not at all necessary that the personality reflected there is the actual us. Every moment, we are shaped by the environment around us. Imagine your friend has seen you reacting to an XYZ situation in a particular way, then he/ she would have an opinion about you in that very respect. The other moment let’s say you are having a thundering cloud around you and you are experiencing a truckload of emotions. You look around for a friend of yours who has a particular mindset about you. He/she would give you a piece of perfect advice in their zone imagining you in that mindset. There’s a 99.9% percent possibility that the piece of advice he/ she gave might not be fruitful for you. There’s nothing wrong with that person. He/she is still your well-wisher. The concept hidden here is NO ONE KNOWS THE REAL US EXCEPT US.

It’s always worthy to look for advice but having your own mind blocked is a matter of concern here. It’s a human tendency to get used to the things we do on a regular basis. Once we start looking for a shoulder to rely upon seeing a red color every time, our brain gets used to it. Slowly and steadily the advice offered by the people, our peers, and relatives starts framing us. We do the things in a way they have imagined us doing. The robot operating there is not the real us. The central idea of including too much text in this blog is “RECOGNISE YOUR OWN SELF”.

No individual on this planet knows what’s good for you better than you. Distancing yourself from the peer or stop seeking advice is not a solution to these problems. The remedy is that the FINAL DECISION SHOULD BE YOURS. Most of the time our mind isn’t at peace despite taking a decision suggested by an expert in that field. The reason is that ‘FINAL DECISION’ is not favored by our very own conscience. On the other hand, if you make a decision that is favored by your own conscience, you are ready to bear the hardships, hurdles, failures being offered.

The best way of staying mindful is to know who you are rather than shaping your personality on other’s perspectives. The best way of knowing about your actual identity is to spend time with your own self. Tun the pages of history, you’ll notice that the most successful humans are the ones who are confident about their own self. Talk to yourself. Stare at yourself in the mirror. Do the things you are confident at. ENJOY GLITTERY? Go for it. The crowd would laugh anyway because they need a reason to amuse themselves. The day you’ll know the real you and start making independent decisions, life would be ninety percent easier.

Let’s be the winner of this self-recognition race, the condition is “THE FINISHING LINE WOULD BE AT A DISTANCE DEFINED BY US”
