READ, READ AND READ!

Throughout this turbulent year, one of our enduring sources of hope and inspiration has been curling up with a good book. Fortunately, when the going got tough, these new titles were there to keep us going. From the books that expanded our knowledge about the brain and the body, to those that helped us ride the waves of emotion and reconnect with compassion, here are some of the Top Picks:-   1. Wherever You Go, There You Are: Mindfulness Meditation in Everyday Life   by Jon Kabat-Zinn In this book, the author maps out a simple path for cultivating mindfulness in one's own life. It speaks both to those coming to meditation for the first time and to long time practitioners, anyone who cares deeply about reclaiming the richness of his or her moments.     2. The Miracle of Mindfulness: An Introduction to the Pract...

STAYING MINDFUL DURING THIS PANDEMIC

Image
There’s too much going around. Seems like one is witnessing the hell before going to. The COVID has affected each sector at its worst. The death is innumerable. There’s a scarcity of oxygen cylinders. This pandemic has taken a toll on the country’s economy too. It’s quite impossible for a country like India to declare complete lockdown all over once again. It would be even harder for the laborers/ workers that work on daily wages. Well, there’s a good deal of truth in the saying,  “EVERY CLOUD HAS A SILVER LINING”.  Undoubtedly the situation this time is worse than the previous year but at the same time, it’s different too. When the spread of this virus (COVID 19) was new, the world wasn’t aware of what it was. There was hubbub all around. Back then, the world wasn’t prepared for such a pandemic. The complete lockdown was a need of that hour. Making countrymen aware at such short notice wasn’t possible. But this time, there’s too much known about this virus. By god’s ...

WHO AM I? (SELF RECOGNITION)

How important it has become these days to have peers, to have people who get you, to be surrounded by someone who would help you out when needed. On one hand, it’s important to have a circle but on the other, maintaining it is a reason for stress. You know, why this difference exists? The answer is within us. We are so much involved in maintaining peer groups, that we lag our own identity. Seeking a friend for help is nothing wrong, rather it’s the need of humans of today. Doing it on a regular basis, always looking for a shoulder to lean upon is a matter of concern. Don’t you think life would have been so easy if, at a time, we knew what’s best for us. We would have saved so many calories if we knew what should we do at a moment. The ‘friend culture’ of today is so much ‘trending’ that we have lost our individual identity. It’s a bitter truth of today’s lifestyle.  I feel we are no longer the ‘actual WE’. The peer around, the relatives beside now shape us. Our likes and dis...

YOU ARE WORTHY!

Image
Hey you! Did you know that you’re very special? You deserve to be loved not only by those around you but by the most important person in your life — YOU. Practicing self-love can be challenging for many of us, especially in times when we face serious challenges. It’s not about being self-absorbed or narcissistic, it’s about getting in touch with ourselves, our well-being and our happiness. We practice self-love so we can push through our limiting beliefs and live a life that truly shines. So do yourself a favor, take a deep breath, give yourself a little hug and start practicing the following: 1. Focus on being someone who loves. If you’re in a place today where you don’t  love yourself,  it’s hard to take a leap and become someone who does. Instead of loving yourself, focus on being someone who loves. That is, allow love to flow through you as often as possible. Focus on what you love about the people you meet. Focus on what you appreciate ...

SELF CONFIDENCE- The master stroke of success

SELF CONFIDENCE- The master stroke of success   "With confidence, you have won before you have started" 'Self Confidence' is the trending demand of the current scenario. There's nothing wrong with saying that a 'rote learner' could hardly cope with the trending atmosphere. There's no worth working hard when you don't have the ability to express and carry yourself aptly. On the contrary, if you know the tactics of self-confidence, a fifty percent effort would give an extraordinary output. The aforesaid lines might sound stupid. I would quote a real-life example to illustrate my point.  Have you ever thought that why there's a stress on decision making, thinking ability, reasoning, presence of mind, and aptitude when it comes to MNCs interview?? As per our current mindset, the stress should be laid on the coursebook of a four-year technical course, isn't it? This is done to check whether you are suitable for the job or not. They mak...

The Choice is yours!

Hello everyone! Hope you all are doing good. I really wanted to talk about the factor which affects every single moment of our life and moulds it- DECISIONS. You might be thinking this 20 year old must be taking decisions which would be messing up her life. Well yes, my life has been a roller coaster ride and will remain like that (cause, what's fun without adventure?!). So today, I would be learning, growing and getting better with you all.  Most of us spend time to find out ways to please others, trying to get ourselves in their good books even if it's not by being ourselves. Even if you manage to achieve that position in someone else's life, you know deep in your heart that this is not how you want to be. You don't get the satisfaction of being you. So, let us be a bit selfish and make ourselves a priority in our lives. Let's make decisions that put us at peace with ourselves even if we don't remain in people's good books because at the end of the day ...
